The "Truth" About Vaccines: Episode 1

Episode 1: The History of Vaccines, Smallpox, Vaccine Safety and the Current CDC Schedule.
The team at "The Truth About Vaccines" have been aggressively advertising and promoting their 7-part series in the weeks leading up to the launch on 12 April, even offering a monetary incentive to help spread the word. Each 2-hour episode is available for 24 hours after which it expires and the next one is launched. Once it expires, it will be available for purchase, just like the "The Truth About Cancer" series by the same company.

Let's see what they had to say:

Jennifer Margulis (P.hD in English) start off by buttering everyone up by stating that we are all pro-kid and pro-health and that questioning vaccines doesn't make you anti-vax, it makes you pro-questions, pro-science, pro-common-sense and pro-public-health.

Well, I have a problem with that, because people don't just question vaccines, they vilify it and that does make them anti-vax. With questions come "research", which isn't bad per se, but the amount of misinformation out there, including this series, makes it difficult for the layman to find correct answers. The real information can be difficult to make sense of because it is so technical and scientific. Interpreting it is a skill that most people just doesn't have, so they turn to easily understandable "information" that is readily available by anti-vax "experts".

The first half of the episode is dedicated to priming the audience to the idea that authorities are lying regarding vaccine safety, that doctors are clueless regarding vaccine injuries and aren't taught much about vaccines except that they work and should be administered, and that the crew at "The Truth About Vaccines" are experts ahead of their time who are laughed at and labelled quacks, just like Galileo was prosecuted in his time for saying the earth is round and revolves around the sun.

Paul Thomas and Sherri Tenpenny says that doctors and pediatricians are taught to deal with "vaccine hesitancy" and taught exactly how to coerce people into vaccinating their kids. This claim is laughable.

They are concerned with the amount of vaccines on the current CDC schedule in that it tripled since the 1980's and that the immunity it provides is flawed and short-lived while creating disease (vaccine injury).

Vaccine Injuries according to TTAV:

• ASD & Autism (encephalopathy, brain damage)
• Seizures & Seizure disorders
• Allergies & Eczema
• Cancer
• Heart Disease
• SIDS & Shaken Baby Syndrome
• Neurological problems & Autoimmune disorders
• ADHD & Learning disabilities
• Anxiety & Depression
• Diabetes
• etc.

They move on to the fact the vaccine manufacturers are exempt from litigation, which means they cannot be sued if something goes wrong with a vaccine. 

Mike Adams says this gives the manufacturer's no reason for quality control and that they can put anything they want in vaccines, like  Caesium 137 (a very dangerous radioactive isotope). This is a ridiculous claim and no, they cannot just put anything in there that they want. Their own children and those of their family and neighbours will get these same vaccines, so they have very strict guidelines and quality control. Every ingredient in the vaccines are there for a reason, nothing is thrown in there willy-nilly!

In actual fact the government, together with the vaccine manufacturers, have set up a vaccine compensation fund: VICP (Vaccine Injury Compensation Program) to which every vaccine sold contributes in order to compensate for those individual who suffer from the very rare complications that can occur due to vaccines.

This program has paid out over $3.6 billion to 5353 cases over 29 years (since 1988). Most cases are settled without proof of causation.

Let's put this in perspective: Out of 3 000 000 000 doses administered in the US since 1988, 18 000 claims were made and 5353 claims were compensated. In other words, for every 1 million doses administered 2 people were compensated. Since 2006 that number has fallen to 1 in every 1 million.

Which leads us to the statistic that the risk for a serious adverse reaction to a vaccine is 1:1 000 000.

Despite the fact that Thimerosal (mercury-based preservative) have been removed or contain only trace amounts in childhood vaccines since 1999, the TTAV "experts" maintain that the mercury in the compound triggers autism (and still cause autism today) as well as a range of other "vaccine injuries".

Next they "debunk the myth" that vaccines eradicated smallpox. According to them smallpox was eradicated due to isolation, quarantine and meticulous sanitary practices. They also say that vaccines actually caused smallpox epidemics.

Dr. Jenner inoculating James Phipps

They give a brief history of how the smallpox vaccine was created and how Dr. Edward Jenner inoculated his son and his gardener's son (James Phipps) multiple times with cowpox pus. Neither of the boys ever contracted smallpox, even after deliberate exposure. Ty says that Phipps died at age 20 and Jenner's son died at age 21, both of Tuberculosis. This is a blatant lie, since Phipps outlived Jenner and died when he was 65 years old.

Jenner's original methods may have been crude, but the fact that it worked was a breakthrough in infectious disease. Scientists refined his methods and created a smallpox vaccine which was instrumental in eradicating smallpox that have plagued mankind for over 16 000 years.
Understanding how infections spread and by isolating infected patients as well as implementing a clean environments and regular hand-washing also helped to end the epidemic by 1980.

The TTAV "experts" all agree: vaccines are flawed and even if it works its immunity is short-lived, therefore needing booster shots. Real immunity comes from breathing in natural viruses and having an immune response (becoming sick) that will protect against future infections for life.
Adams goes as far as to say that only vaccinated people get sick because their immune systems have been weakened by vaccines and that unvaccinated people are perfectly healthy.
Do I really have to tell you that this isn't how it works??

Eric Zielinski (chiropractor) says that he believes almost every doctor that goes to medical school does it because they want to help people. But doctors are being indoctrinated in Universities during their studies. Everything is formulated in a very biased way and they graduate after "being brainwashed for 8 years" by "The System" and "Big Pharma".

Honestly, this episode (and I'm guessing the whole series) is so full of misinformation, lies, and propaganda, I can't even put it all in a blog post.

At least I can say this - their website promises the following:

These "60 of the world's foremost health experts" are not vaccine experts, they are alternative medicine/health advocates with a clear anti-vaccine agenda.
